Quilt Care Instruction Sheet
Your quilt has been made with 100% cotton fabrics that have been washed prior to cutting and piecing. Please follow these instructions when cleaning or storing your quilt.
Wash your quilt in a gentle, short cycle with cold water, a mild detergent, and a little bit of fabric softener. Do not use hot water or bleach. A half cup of vinegar added to the wash will help keep colors bright.
Your quilt is best dried by laying it out flat on a sheet or towels and allowing it to air dry.
Be careful of exposing your quilt to direct sunlight for long durations because the sun may fade the color. Laying it out to dry in the sun is a nice practice when you have cleaned your quilt, though.
You may spot clean your quilt with gentle soap, water and a clean cloth. Clean the spot and allow it to dry.
If you plan to store your quilt, then do so in an acid free box, cotton sheet, or cotton pillow case. Fold or roll the quilt neatly and every few months pull the quilt out and unfold it. Allow it to lay out for several hours and then fold it differently than you did originally, so that the creases are in different locations.
If your quilt has pieces in it that do not normally get washed, such as silk scarves, silk ties, or delicate fabrics, then do not put the quilt in the wash. You will need to spot clean it instead.
